Genesis House is First Recipient of 100 Guys Who Care About Lorain County Donations

Craig Zoladz presents information about Genesis House during his presentation.

Craig Zoladz nominates Genesis House to be supported by 100 Guys Who Care About Lorain County during the October 9. 2014 meeting.

What a tremendous response at the first meeting of 100 Guys Who Care About Lorain County to help charities serving the people of the county! After the presentations on 3 different charities at the October 9, 2014 meeting, the vote went to support Genesis House (also known as Lorain County Safe Harbor).

Members of 100 Guys each write a $100 check directly to the charity selected at the quarterly meeting.  As of today, $4,400 in checks have been delivered to Genesis House. We have invited a representative to our next meeting on January 8, 2015 to report how the money donated was used.

Thanks to Craig Zoladz for bringing their valuable service to victims of domestic violence to our attention. According to their website, they are experiencing a 65% increase in the number of nights of safe shelter they have provided.

The selection was particularly appropriate since October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Genesis House mentioned in their Oct. 28 Facebook post that the support they received that month from men in several groups in the community was especially encouraging as they seek to end domestic violence.
